Hey Sisters,

What a week it’s been—full of lessons, good meals, good vibes, trials, and tests too.

First off, we had our first snow in my city. Even though it was only 2 inches, you’d think we were in the middle of a blizzard with how the news and the city reacted! Then, I had a bit of a mishap. I found myself facing loss and defeat.

Alhamdulillah, though, for the small reminders, affirmations, and healthy relationships that came through during this time of need. I felt an overflow of support, even from some people I didn’t expect. Despite the chaos and uncertainty, there was still a sense of ease.

Practicing gratitude and shifting my perspective on challenges has made a world of difference for me. Those affirmations I speak to myself—reminding me of my strength, courage, and resilience—really showed up for me. I believe the love and grace I first gave to myself created space for me to receive it from others.

In the end, I took control of the situation and made the best of it. While the outcome wasn’t the fairytale ending I might have hoped for, I gained something better: stronger self-esteem and a deeper sense of self-love.

Here’s a reminder for you: take a deep breath and allow yourself to receive those compliments, well-wishes, and duas. If anyone deserves them, it’s YOU.

I had the Somo Salad, and if you haven’t tried it yet, girl, what are you waiting for? I also made this incredible roasted tomato sauce that I paired with some simple pasta. I added zucchini to it, and let me tell you—chef’s kiss—it was delicious!

Fun fact: I didn’t grow up eating zucchini at all. Like most kids, I just assumed it wasn’t good—same with Brussels sprouts. But now? Girl, I love them both! If you’re looking to up your veggie intake, try roasting some veggies in the oven at 450°F. Then blend them up and enjoy! It’s perfect as a pasta sauce or even as a soup.
