Blog Entry #2 :Lipton or Loose? Tea Anyone ?

Blog Entry #2 - Tea Anyone ?

Are you a tea lover or a coffee fanatic? Hmm… I think you can just guess by the title that I'm a tea lover.

But don't get me wrong, I've tried coffee many times-  Lattes, Frappes , Iced , Hot, you name it, but I always come back to tea. Tea is special to me because yes, you guessed again-  I grew up with tea all around me. Both of my grandparents, whom I lived with for the first 10 years of  my life,  enjoy a hot cup of herbal goodness everyday. My Grandmom was a Lipton girl and she wasn't shy about adding sugar,  although at some point I think she started using those pink packets- Whatever they are called. My Granddad however,  didn't use much sugar at all.  He actually preferred to have loose herbs that he would drain himself or even sometimes drink. So when I asked my Grandpop to please teach me how to cook at maybe 6 or 7 years old, he agreed but he said the first thing I’d learn to make was tea!

He used a small pot with this razor thin handle. It was silver with a copper bottom : you knew when he brought this pot out, it was tea time! Those days seem to have left me not just  sweet memories,  but also a deep love for tea. Nowadays, I find myself enjoying  loose tea just like grandpop.  I don't mind swallowing a loose leaf while sipping.  I can remember vividly when my Granddaddy used Say, “ Drink it , It won’t kill you.” As I’d almost always be complaining I didn't want to drink the leaves.

I can go for a good raspberry leaf , maybe nettle of course or a classic green tea. I enjoy the robust flavorful experience the herbs provide  and the calmness tea brings. Did you know that tea has health benefits for the hair when used as a rinse in the last step of your hair care routine? Tea when used as a rinse on the hair can help minimize excess shedding , help with dandruff and even promote hair growth.  Personally, I've used rosemary tea and mint to help with my excessive shedding and after about 3 weeks, I saw a major difference.

Whether you use tea in your hair care routine or as a good pick me up to

start to your day. I'm sure that the benefits will change your life, brighten your day, add sweetness to your mornings.
