I also whipped up a delicious batch of chili and indulged in one of my guilty pleasures: a rich, gooey chocolate lava cake. These days, I’ve been staying busy with work and planning some exciting family activities that I can’t wait to share with you all soon. It’s already snowed twice in just one week, and the chill in the air is undeniable. Even though it was only 2 inches, you’d think we were in the middle of a blizzard with how the news and the city reacted! Then, I had a bit of a mishap. I found myself facing loss and defeat. Alhamdulillah, though, for the small reminders, affirmations, and healthy relationships that came through during this time of need. I felt an overflow of support, even from some people I didn’t expect. Despite the chaos and uncertainty, there was still a sense of ease. Practicing gratitude and shifting my perspective on challenges has made a world of difference for me. Those affirmations I speak to myself—reminding me of my strength, courage, and resilience—really showed up for me.
