Hair Paint Shenanigans: Let’s Get Creative🎨
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته أختي مرحباً
Hey sisters, how’s it going this week? I hope y’all are feeling as amazing as I am! Thanks for coming back to check out what I’ve got cooking for you this time around. Let’s jump right into it!
So, I recently went through my product stash and came across these hair paints by As I Am. You might recognize the brand from my BGHCMP Series—if you haven’t checked that out yet, you definitely should! As I Am made it so easy for us to switch up our hair color without all the damage that comes with permanent dye.
Let me tell you, I dyed my hair with box dye back in 2018, and whew, I wouldn’t recommend it. I was going for that honey blonde look, but instead, I ended up somewhere between ginger and carrot top—LOL. It wasn’t totally awful, but the dryness, the texture change, and just the overall weakness in my hair afterward? Not worth it.
That’s why finding these hair paints was, and still is, a game changer. When I use them, I stick to the LCO method—Leave-In, Cream, Oil—for maximum hydration. Trust me, you don’t want to put this on oily hair; your strands need to soak it all up!
Recently, I tried the blue and gold shades, and let me tell you—obsessed! The gold gives more of a blonde vibe, and the blue came out looking absolutely stunning. The curl definition? Insane. I rocked it in flat twists for a few days, then switched it up with a twist-out. My hair stayed hydrated, moisturized, and poppin’ for a solid nine days.
Now, I’ll keep it real—when making wudu, I had to be extra careful. Instead of fully drenching my hands with water, I gently wiped my hair using the least amount of water possible. It took a little extra effort, but for the vibrant color and how real it looks? Totally worth it.
And here’s the best part: As I Am carries this product in 14 different shades for just $7.99 a jar. Yes, you heard that right—affordable and effective! Depending on your hair length, you can get 3-4 uses out of one jar, so a little goes a long way.
So, what are you waiting for? Check it out and let me know in the comments which color you’d try. And girl, don’t dye your hair—just grab some hair paint and thank me later! Ma Salaama 🌟
These are the two colors I used.
